Before leaving, Sung Jin-woo informed Jin-ah that he was going away for a week. She assumed her older brother might go with someone else. After his near-death experience with Cerebrus, Sung Jin-woo knew he had to stock up on rations and level up so the other monsters in the dungeon wouldn’t bother him. His first goal was to collect 10,000 demon souls. It seemed like an easy task at first, but defeating so many demons was physically and mentally exhausting for the protagonist. Sung Jin-woo decided to use the shadow soldiers, including the leader of the polar bears, whom he named Tank. Sung Jin-woo faced his first big challenge on the 50th floor in the form of Avaricious Vulcan. She towered over Sung Jin-woo and everyone else on the floor. Despite his size, Avaricious Vulcan was able to move at extremely high speeds, which even caught the hero by surprise. However, Sung Jin-woo used his intelligence to lure Avaricious Vulcan into a trap and ended the fight with a single swift strike.

After defeating the enemy, he received the World Tree Fragment, which was described as: Cleared vulcan’s club wood that was made from a branch cut from the world tree. Sung Jin-woo’s next enemy was Metus, the soul guide he encountered on the 75th floor. The fight was fairly straightforward and the hero wrapped things up quickly. When he defeated the enemy, he received Spring Water, which is another ingredient for making the Elixir of Life. He also received two pieces of a unique set. Unfortunately, he ran out of supplies, so he decided to head back home. Sung Jin-woo also realized that he needed to defeat one more monster to obtain the last ingredient for the Elixir of Life.
